Calculators are essential tools for numerical problem solving. Through Otto's retro design, I aimed to create a visually appealing device that enhances user enjoyment. By greeting users with a friendly emoji upon activation, Otto transforms from a simple tool into an engaging and pleasant companion.

DISASSEMBLY To inform the redesign, a scientific calculator was disassembled to analyze its internal mechanisms.
ROUGH CAD
 Using Rhino, I developed a 3D model to further analyze the calculator’s shape.

Explored a pillowed, retro, and friendly surface.
SKETCH
Using my rough CAD as an underlay, I sketched a new surface.
